Looks like someone dumped household trash (again) in the park trash can. Can the source be identified?

Target or some other business is either leaving their trash pickup out all week or blocking the sidewalk with it every evening.

The sidewalk along the even side of Main St has been closed off here due to the construction/renovation on the old Polaroid (?) building here. A new pedestrian walkway has been setup under scaffolding in what was previously on-street parking.

The problem here is that this section of roadway does not drain well due to the level and storm drain placement. As a result, the walkway always has big puddles in it, and the problem is only going to get worse when things start to freeze.

Where similar construction work is being done further down Main St in Kendall Square, a raised walkway has been built that allows for proper drainage and doesn't have any flooding. Can something similar be instituted here?

Sulmona restaurant is partially obstructing the sidewalk with planters in order to block off areas for outdoor seating. The gap is fine for a person to walk through, but can be difficult with multiple people, wide strollers, wheelchairs, etc. The cafe a few doors down manages to have outdoor seating without using space on the public sidewalk, so it would seem reasonable for this establishment to do so as well.

I'm not sure how much of a city issue this, but I assume the billboards must at least be a permitted. Anyways, this is a billboard advertising fireworks sales in New Hampshire. There is a disclaimer about "check your local laws" on it, but as far as I understand these aren't legal anywhere for individuals in MA. So I'm not sure why the city should permit a big advertisement encouraging people to blow their fingers off.

This whole section on the Main Street side of this building is a nightmare.

There is a serious drainage problem and/or a constant water leak in this area, to the effect that during all but the hottest dry weather there are always puddles along the curb/bike lane.

This may contributing to another major problem, which is that large parts of the sidewalk are highly uneven and irregular with the paving. This makes the section a nuisance to pass through on foot, and potentially highly problematic for those who might be in wheelchairs or have strollers. You have large puddles from the road side, plus the sidewalk is adjacent to a loading dock for the building, so you often have trucks blocking passage or making it difficult to avoid sidewalk defects.

All of the above is made even worse in the winter time as the standing water starts to freeze over.

Most pedestrian traffic from Cambridge to Boston going over the Longfellow Bridge is likely passing this way, given that the other side of the bridge is closed to all traffic. These problems have existed here for years, but now that the bridge traffic needs to go this way there is little chance to avoid the area.

Whole Foods has an exit from their garage that is presumably for delivery trucks to make use of. There is a small sign facing the street that says "Do Not Enter" and inside there is a sign stating "This Is Not An Exit".

Regardless, during evening rush hour, when traffic is backed up on Putnam, drivers will regularly cut through the Whole Foods garage and parking lot to cut over to Blackstone St and Western Ave. Often they will cross into oncoming traffic to take this turn and surprise people on foot/bicycle.

At all times of the day, customers will also use this as an exit, which has particularly bad visibilty and cause problems for pedestrians in all directions and vehicles coming from the direction of River St.

There is a grate that can be brought down over the exit. It seems that this should be closed except for when WF has delivery vehicles requiring the exit.

Timing and activation of walk lights has changed. Previously the walk light to cross Blossom would come on automatically while both directions on Cambridge St had a green light. Now it doesn't automatically activate, or if so it doesn't for every light cycle, and it doesn't come on until all of the car signals are red. This is a busy area for all traffic, but the less frequent (shorter?) pedestrian light cycle leads to people crossing against the light more often, sometimes unwittingly.
